We are grateful for our customers’ patience during the past months while our store was closed to the public. Those who continued to support Smith Family Bookstore through phone and email orders kept our boat afloat, and we loved gathering books from our shelves and ordering new books for you to read. Without your kind words and steady requests for mysteries, science fiction, gardening, philosophy, novels, history, and many, many books for children and teens, it’s doubtful we would survive this pandemic.
In the past months, we have cleaned and expanded our store, reorganized the upstairs rooms, and unpacked hundreds of boxes of books to add to our amazing inventory of used and new books.
So, welcome back! And yes, we sell gift certificates in any amount. Gift certificates can be purchased by phone or in the store. We are happy to mail them, too.
Smith Family Bookstore, one of the oldest independent bookstores in Oregon, has been buying and selling books since 1974. Our business is simple: we have worked hard for decades to create a big, beautiful bookstore filled with good books for people who read and support local businesses. We believe bookstores matter.
Our store is located in one of the oldest buildings remaining in the ever-evolving Market District in Eugene, Oregon. We have six rooms full of books on two levels with hundreds of well organized sections, and because we buy so many books every week, the inventory is always changing and growing. We are committed to thriving as a bookstore for our community. We offer an interesting selection of good books, and we welcome local readers and visitors from everywhere.
